Courseulles-sur-Mer in the Calvados region of Normandy, France

A collaboration across the Atlantic between the Canadian War Museum and the Juno Beach Centre for an exhibit about the Great Women During the (Second World) War.

NineSixteen Creative and O+D collaborated on the exhibit design, and parts of the exhibit reused existing display cases and other exhibit structures from the CWM inventory to ensure budget requirements were met.

The exhibit design was based on modular units, and the graphic panels were standardized, to suit shipping requirements and onsite material handling. The exhibit panels slotted into the tops of the bases, which facilitated the installation process and reduced the amount of structure required. The bases were also designed to nest other exhibit components in order to reduce the amount of shipping space required.

The exhibit was fully assembled in Ottawa prior to being shipped to France, to ensure all components were accounted for.
