Exhibit on Transportation
Winner
of the 2001 Tranny Award of Merit for Special Events
This 20'x20' travelling exhibit portrays 100 years of transportation
in Canada. The progression from historical times to future possibilities
drove the design of this booth. The exterior archways framed in copper
with hanging lanterns and the stonework-look supports give the impression
of historic train stations. The large graphics on each corner are framed
in copper and the images are sepia toned for historical flavor. Inside
the booth, each mode of transportation is represented with interactives
to complement additional graphic images and information.
The central pyramidal tower represents the future and features copper
framing interior-lit frosted plexi panels. Arching brushed aluminum bridges
connect the tower to each corner of the booth giving the impression of
bridges, jet trails or highways and connecting the past with the future.
Tower graphics display state of the art technology being developed by
Transport Canada for Canadian safety, economic development and ecological
protection.
