Industry Canada
The Tokyo Motor Show

Oulton & Devine has been awarded the design of the Canadian pavilion at the Tokyo Motor Show (Japan) since 1995. This high profile tradeshow event takes place every second year at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan and is one of the main showcase events for the top auto makers of the world.

Industry Canada requires the design to be unique for each show and that it adhere to the same budget each year since the majority of the exhibit costs are provided by Canadian automotive part suppliers.

The exhibit design is often quite challenging because it needs to showcase a variety of Canadian companies with a variety of components. Items to be displayed range in size from an entire vehicle, down to a small gear. The design also incorporates each company's corporate message as well as Canada's federal image.

In 2003, the pavilion incorporated a new branding theme for Canada, which included sychronized video displays, oversized ceiling graphics, banner stands and thematic graphic panels. The exhibit staff were equipped with fleece vests and golf shirts which had the new branding image to help identify them within the pavilion.

Since 1997, Oulton & Devine has been responsible for the design, site supervision in Tokyo, design management and technical drawings for tendering to fabricators.
