Travelling Exhibit - DND Trailers

The DND trailers were travelling exhibits housed within
45' long trailers. The trailers travelled throughout Canada from coast to coast to coast to showcase the national work of the Department of Defence. Each year there was a different theme or celebrated event. The design was completely barrier-free and included interactives, videos and dioramas. O&D designed the trailer exhibits for the final three years prior to government cutbacks which ended the program.

The design challenges inherent in this type of travelling exhibit required a variety of highly traffic-tolerant finishes for the numbers of day to day visitors. Hidden storage areas, access to lighting fixtures and video housings and the durability to withstand the physical pounding of road travel were extremely important to ensure the success of this well received national exhibit.
